regarding Senator Urquhart's Sex Ed bill:

You've been hearing about it non-stop for the last year, we've been rallying and petitioning and writing our legislators. It's finally here--we were just now informed that OUR SEX ED BILL IS BEING HEARD BY THE SENATE EDUCATION COMMITTEE!

PLEASE JOIN IN US IN SHOWING OUR SOLIDARITY AND COMMITMENT TO SEX EDUCTION ON MONDAY, FEB. 22, 2010 AT 8:00AM IN ROOM 415 OF THE CAPITOL .

It is crucial that we have as many supporters in the room as possible. If you're thinking, "they won't miss my one body there in the crowd," or "it doesn't matter if I go or not-one person doesn't change anything," think again. Every act of involvement matters , and the progress we have made in this movement is proof. We have watched the surprise in the faces of legislators as we presented them with the 10,000+ petition signatures. We have spoken with fellow community leaders who are beyond impressed at the dedication of our volunteers and supporters, and every day we hear from members of the public that they read a news story about our efforts that moved them to want to help. Our work has shifted attitudes in a way that has transformed the conversation about sex education and the health of our youth . In many ways, we have already won.

We are only days away from the culmination of our fight-please help us push our message one last mile. PLEASE STAND WITH US ON MONDAY .

Because of the early meeting time, parking should be much easier than usual. The street on the east side of the Capitol is likely the best. Also, dress to impress, and try to arrive around 7:30am, especially if you would like to sign up to testify in favor of the bill as a citizen witness.

Bring your friends, your family, your parents and children, your teachers and students. Every voice counts, and we need yours!
